Dear Friends,

Frankie researches Frankie Gershwin Godowsky in the Rare Collections reading room

I have just been informed that audio of my interview with Jill Pasternak on Crossover at WRTI Philadelphia has just been posted on their website

It has some fun stories about the family and my grandmother Frances Gershwin Godowsky, George and Ira’s younger sister, as well as a few exclusive minutes about the process of developing the Tony Award Winning Porgy and Bess with Director Diane Paulus and Playwright Suzan Lori Parks.

The radio interview was part of the media attention in the days preceding a youth music competition that was held in honor of the Gershwin legacy and I was happy to participate in it…. and even performed a couple of songs with Daniel Kramer who had just flown in from Moscow, Russia. Daniel and I later went on air on The Bridge, a midnight Jazz program on WRTI Philadelphia. But it looks like those midnight archives may have been lost, so the only The Bridge recording is the in-studio video we posted at this page.

Hope you are all having a nice time preparing for the Thanksgiving and other upcoming holidays!
